Daily Success 3/14/2013 – I had horrible things going on inside my body
Oh man, I can’t say enough about Shakeology. It’s what introduced me to Beachbody in the first place. I had horrible things going on inside my body. Holes in my intestines, inflammation levels twice as high as they should be, issues with gluten, and autoimmune problems like crazy.
My doctor had me taking a handful of pills and supplements every day. It was crazy. One day I got sick of it, did some research, found Shakeology. And I’ve never looked back! I feel much better drinking Shakeology than I ever did on my meds. But Shakeology was just the start.
I tried P90X, then Slim in 6, but I just wasn’t ready to commit. Then I got a call from my Coach. I told her what I liked, and what my goals were, and she said do ChaLEAN Extreme. It’s amazing. I recommend it to anybody. It changed my body so much. I lost 122 lbs., ran my first ever half-marathon, and went from size 24 to size 10!!! Chalene made the difference for me. She makes it fun to do the program. She explains exactly what you’re doing and why. And I love how she reminds you that it is so much more than exercise.
My life has changed in ways I can’t even put into words. The Coaches and people I have met through Beachbody are so positive. There are so many people who care so much. My Coach is such a positive light for me. When I felt like I couldn’t do it, or wanted to give up, instead of lecturing me, she stood by my side and reminded me that I could do it. I could be successful.

Daily Success 3/12/2013 – My body had become like a prison
I was addicted to food. My body had become like a prison I created one bite at a time. Even worse, I was living with out-of-control diabetes and had gained over 25 pounds. Was the stress and disappointment of trying to have a baby for two years driving me to unhealthy eating habits? You bet.
But it took one little thing to change the course of my life: hearing the heartbeat of my 7-week unborn son at the fertility clinic. That event alone caused me to do some serious soul searching.
I had seen Tony Horton’s P90X®infomercial on TV for years. I loved the concept. The energy. All the inspirational stories. I dreamed of my body looking as good as the people on the infomercial so I decided to take the 90-day plunge.
Talk about a complete program! Muscle strength days. Cardiovascular days. There’s even a nutrition guide, a workout calendar, and a complete breakdown of each of the workouts. How cool is that?

Today, I’ve lost 30 pounds of pure blubber and over 12 inches off my waist. And thanks to Shakeology®, I don’t eat junk food and have been able to get my blood sugar levels under control. In fact, I’ve gone from 5 shots of insulin a day to just one. But the best part is that now I know I’ll be there for my children for years to come.

Motivation VS Inspiration
So in the world of working out (really in anything that we do) the hardest thing to do is in the long run is keeping motivation and continue to keep up the consistency of whatever that we choose to do.
If you have followed me for a while than you have probably have heard me say “Use other people and their story as Inspiration and don’t use their story as a measuring stick.” Depending on how you look at stories from Beachbody or from other source it can be looked at in two different ways and I have heard both from team members over the past two years.
The first way is looking at as a Measuring Stick. I had someone say half joking say I followed the program and ate right and I didn’t lose 30 lbs like the person on the infomercial. It is important to remember that each of us is in different places in our lives and in different physical conditions.
The second way and the correct way to look at motivational stories is to look what can be done. Understand that people had to change their lives and in many cases are still changing their lives to improve their health.
These are great examples of Inspiration but what is Inspiration?
The act of influencing or suggesting opinions
The main thing to notice is that inspiration does not do anything to bring you to actually do work. It only influences or suggests. That is where motivation comes in.
Motivation is: force, stimulus, or influence : incentive, drive
I have had many people come to me and say that they need help because they know they need to change but they don’t have the motivation I attempt to help them find why they are talking to me.
What is it that motivates them to change the way they have eaten for year, acted for years and many time comfortably lived for years? While each person is different no matter what the reason no matter what it is, it needs to be personal and it needs to be stronger then sore muscles and convenient un-healthy fast food.
I post daily, inspirational quotes, pictures and stories but these are there to support your motivation but it will take personal drive to and a person motivation for you to get up and start changing your life.

Daily Success 3/11/2013 – I couldn’t play sports with my kids. I felt unattractive to my husband.
I was in a bad place. All I used to do was sit around and watch TV and stuff my face. It hurt to get up and do things. I felt lazy, unmotivated, worthless, ugly, bored. I couldn’t play sports with my kids. I felt unattractive to my husband.
But something gnawed at me. The father of my children had passed away. And I knew that if I didn’t do something about my health… I couldn’t bear the thought of my kids losing me, too.
Luckily I had a friend who was a Beachbody Coach, and it saved me. I was so full of excuses. But my coach introduced me to the idea of taking baby steps. She introduced me to how fun a gym could really be. She held my hand at times… and kicked me in the butt at times.
But she always had faith in me.

After 6 months, I hit a plateau. So my coach told me about Shakeology—and it got my body back into burn mode… and kept it there. So far I’ve lost over 100 lbs. thanks to Shakeology combined with healthy diet and exercise. I have so much more energy now. I am in less pain. I’m more active. And I don’t just watch my kids play sports—I play right along side them.
Most of all, I’m so proud of myself or sticking with my program and not letting excuses get the better of me. For that, I thank my Coach. They always reminded me that I was worth it, and always believed in me. Without a coach, I never would have found Shakeology, and I would have given up a long time ago. Thanks!
Morning Motivation 3/8/2013 – A moment of silence
Daily Success 3/14/2013 – faced some pretty tough times—death of my brother, a divorce, and giving birth when I weighed 307 pounds.
Before finding Beachbody, I had faced some pretty tough times—death of my brother, a divorce, and giving birth when I weighed 307 pounds. When I was diagnosed with a cyst that covered 60% of my thyroid, my doctor also said I was pre-diabetic and would need to start taking medication twice a day.
I kept thinking, ‘I’m in my 30s—I can’t take a pill every day, forever.’ That’s the minute I knew I had to do something.
TurboJam got me started, and now TurboFire is keeping me going! I can’t say how much I love the Turbos. I love the modifications and truly enjoy the New to Class aspect Chalene gives you on every program. You don’t have to get it right. Just keep trying! I will sit in traffic and think, ‘Wow, I could be busting a move now.’
And here’s the best. I’ve lost 87 lbs. so far. I can breathe. Take no prescribed medication. My blood pressure is normal. When I started, I was wearing a size 24. Now I’m a 14 and wearing larges. And I’m no longer pre-diabetic.

What did Challenge Groups give me? Constant accountability. In my Challenge Group, we were all very active. Having a support group and being on a team was certainly one of the key factors for me. Shakeology, too. My doctor asked what I was doing to get such fantastic results, so I made sure to inform her that Shakeology is the key. I am truly a new person. Every day is an active day.
I’ve moved on to Les Mills Combat™ and I am still shedding pounds!
